Cherokees 2 Real Milan 3

Real Milans impressive run of form continued today when they beat a tough Slough Junior Cherokees by 3-2. Real began sluggishly and only the alert goalkeeping of Anthony MacCarroll prevented Cherokees taking an early lead. But it was Milan who made the all important breakthough after 17 mins when following good build up play by Josh Lake and Renaldo, Daryll Storey pounced to put The Blues one up. Six minutes later it was Josh again, who ran though to set up Daryll to fire goal number two. Cherokees countered with a goal of there own, and then it was end to end play until half time arrived.
Real brought on Karim Usmani in place of 2 goal Daryll to tighten up the midfield, and Ashley Kang replaced the hard tackling Tom Emery to add a bit of pace. The substitutions worked a treat when the ever reliable Lewis Martin broke forward and exchanged passes with Kang, who produced an excellent back heel, into Lewis's path. He ran forward, and delivered a quality cross, which the incoming Renaldo buried at the near post.
That seemed to knock the stuffing out of the Cherokees, and when they did threaten, they found Anthony Mac on top form. He produced a series of fine saves to deny the Cherokees attack. In the last minute, Ricky Wheeler went off injured, and whilst Real were still organising the reshaped back four, a lovely Cherokees move ended in their second goal. By then Real had done enough for all three points and a fine away victory was theirs.
For Real Milan, Sam Haggerty was always dangerous when in possession, and Karim, Lewis and Renaldo were superb thoughout.
