Uxbridge Park Rangers 3 Real Milan 1

Real Milans' season went as flat as last Tuesdays pancakes, as a hungrier Uxbridge side, out battled Milan to take all three points and put themselves back into the title race.
Reals preparations went into a tailspin when first Nysha and then Kyle, failed to show. Renaldo then pulled out injured at last moment. With Gerti arriving at the kick off this was hardly the way to prepare for such an important match. With no subs to call on, Milan surprisingly made the better start with Luke Thorpe putting in some dangerous crosses and Josh Lake and Gerti having shots well saved by Rangers 'keeper Dean Lewis. Against the run of play, from an Uxbridge corner, the half cleared ball fell invitingly to James Webb who gratefully thumped home the opener Milan were stung into action, and within 5 minutes Josh Lake, playing his first full game of the season, controlled a loose ball and rifled a shot on the turn into the corner of the net to equalise However ,within 1o minutes, Uxbridge went back in front with a fantastic shot from an Andrew Martin freekick, that Milan stopper Lee Bennett could do nothing about.
The second half saw UPR come straight out onto the attack, but Amadou Samba, Matty Page and Bennett were throwing themselves in front of the ball with last ditch tackles. The third goal when it came, was a hotly disputed penalty struck to the goalies right by Joe Freeman but nobody could deny Uxbridge deserved a third.
It looked curtains for Real but thanks to the inspirational talisman and captain, and probably the best player in the division, the awesome Amadou picked up his whole team and wrung every last effort out of his tiring team mates to leave Uxbridge hanging on for the last 15 minutes. But despite a couple of Lake efforts and Lee Bennett just hooking wide from a corner, Milan left it too late to salvage anything from the game.....and possibly the season.
The XI chosen did there best but some players level of committment this season must surely be questioned.
