Iver Heath 4 Real Milan 0
Real Milans loss of form continued when they went down 4-0 to a hard working motivated Iver side. Reals pre-match preparations were rocked before hand, when striker Josh Lake was withdrawn on doctors orders, suffering leg pains. Ashley Kang was drafted as emergency centre back and Kevin just vanished. There was no warning of what was to come as Real slowly got into the game and created the first openings. Jordan Pritchard burst through in the 7th minute beating two men but firing wide. Then, from a Louis Martin free kick, Jack Evans in acres of space, shot straight at the 'keeper. Five minutes later, Anthony Gardner again shot straight at the keeper from a great chance. But it was Iver who grabbed the opening goal ten minutes before half time. A Real midfielder was caught in possession outside his own area, and Iver burst forward to fire a beauty passed the diving Anthony MacCarroll. Real weren't too concerned as they were still making chances. Two minutes before the break it was Iver who grabbed the second.
The Real players were visibly deflated at the interval. They had the most chances, yet Iver were two goals to the good. They came out second half determined to get back into the game. Josh, on for twenty minutes to try and get a goal, uncharacteristically completely miskicked with an open goal. A Renaldo rocket flew just inches wide. Ashley was tackled when he seemed bound to score. Then Karim got injured and had to to come off.
Real left just three at the back as they went in search of a goal. Anthony came back on to cause Iver more problems. Then disaster struck. Iver broke away on the counter attack and scored twice more in the last 10 minutes leaving Real shattered.
Huge credit should be given to Iver.Their defending was fantastic.Their committment superb. Their team spirit unbreakable. The number 17 played very well and was a real handful.
For the first time this season, Real just couldn't score. They didn't play badly but they were never at their best. Danny O'Sullivan Louis Martin Tom Emery and Harley McAuley stood out for Real. Anthony Gardner played very well second half as did Anthony Mac.
More worrying for Real is that Josh and Karim bring the number of injured players to SIX. Hopefully the injured players will be back soon, so that Real can finish the second half of the season with a flourish. (And hopefully we'll find Kevin)
