Real Milan 1 Harefield United 4
Shot shy Real Milan let Harefield United off the hook, when they missed a host of chances to win the game. Harefield gave Milan a lesson in finishing and clinically took their chances when they came.
Real started brighter and for the first 20 minutes swarmed around the United goal. But against the run of play, it was Harefield who took the lead. Real's response was a further barrage of shots on goal, and Daryll Storey' s fine effort came back off the post, only for Harefield to immediateley counter attack and grab their second.
A stunned Milan came in at half time, bewildered that having played so well, they were two goals behind. Ashley Kang was unlucky to be subbed and Jordan Pritchard was introduced in the second half along with Renaldo who replaced Josh Lake.
The change of tactics paid off, as within 5 minutes Scott Lawrie fired home after great work from Jordan. Again Milan pressed forward with one powerful Ricky Wheeler header just going over the bar. Harefield stood firm and weathered the storm and as in the first half, broke away to score two more goals to leave The Blues down hearted.
Harefield were a tidy side with two dangerous, clever forwards who know how to finish. The United manager was honest enough to admit Real were unlucky, but that should'nt mask the fact that Real need a more killer touch in front of goal.
Tere were plenty of positives to take from the game. Daryll Storey is getting better and stronger and Ashley Kang will be back to his best very soon. Ricky Wheeler was almost Man Of The Match. Lewis Martin was superb as always and Jack Evans and Kevin Long continued to look accomplished defenders. Tom Emery and Harley McAuley slotted in very well when they came on. Josh Lake provided some wonderful moments of skill that had the crowd cheering.
Man Of The Match for Real Milan was the excellent Karim Usmani who is improving both in attitude and skill every week.
