Berks and Bucks Cup

Real Milan were rocked before kick off when Karim Usmani and Scott Lawrie withdrew from the squad. With Nysha having completely vanished, and Matty Page ruled out with a broken foot following an arguement with a car, this was far from ideal preparations.
But for 45 minutes Real Milan played superbly and went in at half time only 1-0 down to probably one of the best teams they're ever likely to face. Chalfont Saints Under 16s were runners up in Division 1 of the Wycombe and South Bucks Minor League last year. (there are Five Divisions) and in the second half Saints class finally told with 4 quality goals in a 12 minute spell.
The reshuffled Milan team can take lots of positives from the game. Renaldo playing at left back for the first time had a great game and the versatile Chris Zuber did an excellent job in 3 different positions. Jack Evans carried on where he left off last week and worked so hard in midfield. Man Of The Match Lee Bennett again proved what a talented 'keeper he is and Captain Amadou Samba led by example with a fantastic performance. Ashley Kang had a cracking game working hard and making good runs off the ball. Jordan Pritchard also played well till he got injured.

Bennett, Martin, (Zuber 45) Renaldo, Samba, Storey, Evans, Pritchard, ( Zuber 25)(O'Sullivan 40), Thorpe, (Lake) , Challis, Ocansey. Kang.
Absent; Nysha (not registered) Page (broken foot) Usmani (cold) Lawrie(Unavailable)

Old Windsor Tigers 1 Real Milan 1

A lack lustre Real Milan gained just a solitary point in a game they should have won by half time. Sloppy finishing and an inspired performance by the Tigers 'keeper, left Real with just Victor Ocanseys 55th minute strike to show for all their efforts. Man of the Match Jack Evans was dominant in the midfield throughout with Matty Page and Jordan Pritchard also having fine games.
The first half was all Milan with Windsor reduced to just a few long distance strikes. Scott Lawrie and Louis Martin rained in cross after cross on the right, but superb handling by the Tigers goalie thwarted most attacks. Ocansey should have scored on 30 minutes, when put clean through, but under pressure from two defenders, he put the ball over the bar. Luke Thorpe fired wide when clean through, and Pritchard shot tamely from another great opening.
In the second half Karim Usmani was introduced as sub and Daryll Storey swapped with Thorpe to reshape the team. Ten minutes in, Usmani 's passed out wide to Lawrie, who got to the byline and cut back for the incoming Ocansey to blast the opening goal to put Milan ahead.
Within five minutes though, with at least three Real players ball watching, a harmless looking cross found an unmarked Tigers forward, who cooly slotted home the equalizer. After that, although Real were never defensively in trouble again , their attacking play became erratic and apart from Lawrie no-one really made any clear openings. Storey worked hard throughout without success. Real will have to play much better next week to get any kind of result against Under 16s Chalfont Saints in the cup.
Definitely a case of two dropped points for Real who never really matched the high standards of last week and it was a disappointing start to the new season.

Iver Raiders 1 Real Milan 0

A breakway goal 12 minutes from time, cooly finished by Iver striker Micah, was the difference between the two teams in hard fought Under 15 encounter. Last years League Cup Winners (they beat Beaconsfield SYCOB in the final) were made to work all the way by a very impressive Real Milan team.
Real, who started with striker Daryll Storey at centre back in Karim Usmanis absence, took 10 minutes to settle before finding their rhythm. Storey, Stewart Challis, Matty Page, Amadou Samba and 'keeper Lee Bennett were rarely troubled and coped well with the dangerous Iver attack with Omar always a threat.
On 30 minutes Real suffered a set back, when Bennett came off injured and top scorer Victor Ocansey took over in goal. Victor went on to perform superbly and was not at fault for the late goal. Milan got stronger as the game went on and following great work from Josh Lake and the ever impressive Scott lawrie, Danny O'Sullivan nearly put Real ahead with a fine shot that was turned onto the bar by the Iver 'keeper. An Ashley Kang curler whizzed just wide and a Renaldo rocket flew just over.
At the end, both managers agreed a draw was a fair result, with Real playing some great football against the more direct approach by Iver.
Highlights for Real were Jack Evans and Jordan Pritchard, who brought flair as well as 'bite' to the midfield. Danny O' Sullivan's wing play and crisp passing caused Iver problems all game. Ashley played very well when he came on and with a but of luck could have scored. Stewart Challis at left back was immense and Scott Lawrie is still 'on fire'. Renaldo again showed what a great passer he can be. and Matty, at right back was solid and reliable. Luke and Nysha did well, but need to capture their 'sharpness' as they missed a lot of pre-season training.Lee Bennett, probably the best goalie in the league, was superb before his injury and looks doubtful for sunday. Amadou was excellent as usual ands is a fine captain of the team.
But the best performance was by the awesome Daryll Storey, who had'nt played at centre back before, who inspired, and pushed his team mates to give more, and led by example. He thoughly deserved the Man of the Match award.
Squad: Bennett, Page, Challis, Samba, Storey, Thorpe, Nysha, Evans,Lawrie, O'Sullivan, Victor, Kang, Renaldo and Pritchard
Absent were Martin, Usmani, Long, and Zuber.

Loudwater 3 Real Milan 1

Under par Real Milan went down 3-1 on sunday, to an excellent hard-working Loudwater side. Real started sluggishly and the experimental line-up struggled to impose themselves in a mostly Loudwater dominated first half. Danny O'Sullivan, providing some deft touches up front, and Scott Lawrie's all action performance being the only noticable pluspoints.
By the time Real introduced the rested Karim Usmani and Daryll Storey, they were already two goals behind. The first goal, an excellent strike that left 'keeper Lee Bennett with no chance.
At half time a reshape was in order and when the second half began, Real gradually got on top. But, from the 'move of the match' ,Loudwater put the game beyond Milans reach, with a well crafted third goal. A long diagonal cross field pass was met sweetly on the volley at the far post and the Real defence could only watch as the ball nestled into the back of their net.
Real didnt give up, a magical Lawrie run and shot came back of the post. Storey slipped on the six yard line when it was easier to score and Renaldo should have buried a far post header.
Following a classy move between Lewis Martin and Lawrie on the right, Martins shot-cum-cross found its way into the roof of the net to reduce the deficit.
Loudwater throughly deserved the win and should go on to have a successful season. Real Milan, however, looked lethagic and although playing in a tournament 24 hours earlier clearly had an adverse effect and the absence of top scorer Victor Ocansey left the attack weakened, Real will need to perform a lot better against Division 1 Iver in next sundays final warm up game.

Man Of the Match was Scott Lawrie with Stewart Challis continuing his excellent start in a Real shirt
